CIG Healthcare Partnership is delighted to announce the success of our clients in the Best Education & Training category at this year’s SMART Awards. The top prize went to HRA Pharma’s ellaOne POM to P training for pharmacists and support staff, while Omega Pharma’s training on common skin conditions featuring the Dermalex range was Highly Commended. In addition, two other CIG collaborations – Omega Pharma’s Head Lice Advice and Nutricia Early Life Nutrition’s resources on infant feeding problems – made it onto the shortlist against strong competition.

Presenting the award, LloydsPharmacy’s superintendent pharmacist Steve Howard noted that the quality of pharmacy training has “moved forward immeasurably in recent years”, with this year’s entries demonstrating “tightly defined learning objectives” to meet pharmacy teams’ training needs. He commented that the calibre of SMART entries was such that “to be highly commended, or even make the shortlist, is an achievement in itself.”

Lesley Johnson, director of Learning & Development at CIG Healthcare Partnership, said: “The whole team is extremely proud that so many of our clients have been recognised for their commitment to training. It is a real pleasure to work with companies who want to support pharmacy in delivering the self care agenda. This type of support and training helps pharmacists and their teams to keep their knowledge and skills up to date, leading to first class care for the customer.”
